Stephen is a founder and Senior Partner of Neural Insights, where he has responsibility for business strategy, strategic relationships, enterprise improvement, risk management, regulations, quantitative research, technology and business intelligence solutions.

Prior to joining Neural Insights, Stephen was the Global Managing Partner for Accenture's FS Finance & Performance Management Practice, the Global Lead Partner for Deloitte's Risk Management Practice, and the Managing Partner for Ernst & Young's Financial Services Risk Management & Regulatory Practice across Europe, Middle East, India and Africa.

Stephen has also held a number of senior industry roles in technology, operations and financial engineering. He started his career building expert systems for the United Nations and continues to be active in the fields of machine intelligence, cryptography, epidemiological modelling, and macroeconomics.

He has over 25 years experience of the Financial Services Industry and has been pivotal in the development of some of the most successful management consulting teams in the industry. He has also operated across energy, retail, aerospace, healthcare and the pharmaceutical research industries.

He has a very direct approach to working with clients and has a unique profile in the industry with experience spanning strategy, technology, operations, risk management, out-sourcing, cost reduction, and financial engineering. Recently, he has been responsible for supporting regulators, central banks and financial institutions on how they should respond to major regulatory changes and the restrictive credit environment.

His clients include major banking groups, investment banks, investment firms, regulators and central banks; in the UK, across EMEIA, US and Asia-Pacific. He has also worked with a number of leading Universities' research programmes in the UK and the US.

Stephen has a number of advanced qualifications including BSc(Hons) degrees in Computer Science, Economics & Statistics, an MBA in Finance, and a PhD in Financial Engineering. He is widely published and a regular conference speaker. Recent publications include The Magic in the Brain, Identity Management Analytics, Business Modelling, and numerous technical innovations in the design of enterprise business architectures.

Outside of Neural Insights', Stephen's passions include his family, music production, art, education and scientific innovation.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution, a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Information Systems Engineer, Chartered IT Professional and a Member of the British Computer Society.
